How Do I Calculate Electricity Bill

Planning to buy or change a electric device  and you are confused so as to know what are different ratings and what would be the change in electricity bill if you change the device?

Well, most consumers are confused on how to calculate electricity bill, the below simple explanation would give you an ideal of how to calculate electricity bill by yourself.

1. 1 Unit of Electricity is equal to 1 Kilowatt hour (1 Kilowatt = 1000 Watts)
2. A tube light of 100 Watt means it consumes 40 Watt power per hour
3. Assume you are using the tube for 10 Hours a day, then total power consumed will be 100×10 =1000 Watts for 10 hours
4. So based on above calculation, we can conclude that to consume 1 Unit of electricity the tube light must be turned on for 10 Hours.
5. If per unit cost is 3 Rs. The total cost of electricity consumed by the tube for 10 Hours will be 10×3 = 30 Rs.
